God's word tells us in Ephesians 6:12 that "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against
the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Spiritual warfare is real, my friends, both in the heavenly places and here on earth. When we seek to do God's will, not only for lives, but to reach the lost, it's a war between light and darkness and it's not pretty.
That's why prayer must be a vital part of our lives. We not only pray for the lost, but pray for God to give us the strength and courage to step out of our comfort zones and reach out to those who are hurting. Whether we realize it or not, when we seek the lost (going where they are), we are entering into enemy territory and the enemy doesn't play by the rules. Playing it safe (i.e. sitting in church and waiting for the lost to come to us) didn't work for the 12 apostles who gave their lives to reach the lost and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and it doesn't work for me.
As I was praying this evening, my heart and spirit were heavy and humbled as I thought about the children, women and men enslaved by human trafficking in the U.S. and the compelling purpose (as Pastor Wayne says) God has placed on my heart and others to Find, Rescue, Embrace and Empower (FREE) them.
As you some of you know, I am traveling to Atlanta this week to train with Out of Darkness. I'm excited about this opportunity to learn and see the "big picture" of what anti-trafficking work looks like, who's involved and how everything/everyone connects together. One of my prayers is God will show me what that "big picture" looks like for Indiana and how He wants F.R.E.E. Indiana to be involved. My goal is to blog each night I am there to share my experiences.
I ask for your prayers, please - to pray that children, women and men enslaved by trafficking are found, rescued and restored (now and every day); for God's protection as I do a night of street outreach with the Out of Darkness team and that God would remove any obstacles/hindrances the enemy may use to thwart us from reaching the women; and for God's Divine revelation and direction as I seek His plan for F.R.E.E. Indiana.
Stay tuned this week...... Thank you and God bless!

Getting Ready to Move
Hello, my friends!
I know it's been a while since my last blog. My apologies. I could say it's because "life happens" and that would be true. However, it would be a disservice to God and how He is getting me ready to move towards the vision and mission of my calling - F.R.E.E. Indiana.
If you noticed at the top of my blog, the header has changed from "A Voice for Freedom" to "Voices for Freedom". Why has it changed? I'm glad you asked. It's changed because God has sent an army of people interested in getting involved with F.R.E.E. Indiana. One voice has now become many voices and I praise Him for it! I asked God to send people with a burden and desire to help Find (R), Rescue (R), Embrace (E), Empower (E) the children, women and men enslaved by trafficking and that prayer has been answered. F.R.E.E. Indiana will have it's first team meeting on September 29. Let the work begin!
I write this blog not only to update you on the move in people's hearts to Say Something and Do Something, but to ask you to keep checking back in a couple of weeks as I travel to Atlanta to train with Out of Darkness, an anti-trafficking ministry connected with the Atlanta Dream Center. I will be in Atlanta from October 2-6 to not only attend one of their training events, but to also meet with their team and other people/agencies fighting the good fight in Georgia.
While I'm in Atlanta, I will be posting blogs to share my experiences and the work that's being done in Atlanta. Out of Darkness has rescued more than 100 women from trafficking, prostitution, etc. God is on the move in Atlanta!
One of my prayers for Atlanta is to have God show me the "big picture" of what anti-trafficking work looks like from the time a person is found and identified; to their rescue; all of the steps/work in between; and to the time they are placed in a safe house for the healing and restoration to begin. This kind of work has started in Indiana, but we need to do more.
It's time for the Body of Christ throughout Indiana to Say and Do Something to help free and restore those enslaved by trafficking. Our God is bigger than any trafficker; He is bigger than any obstacle that gets in the way; and He is big enough to provide all of the resources (i.e. people, funding, safe houses, services) needed to help those in bondage.
Your prayers for safe travel, protection as I go out onto the streets of Atlanta to do outreach with Out of Darkness; and more importantly, a clear sense of what God is revealing to me are appreciated.
Until Everyone is FREE.....
